"CONSOLIDATOR" - is technology for archeology, restoration and research

Many stone fragments are often found in large archeological excavations. It is difficult to assemble a complete statue out of such fragments. Some parts of a statue may be located in one of museums, and its lost fragments may lie in boxes in the place of archeological excavations or in some other museums or collections.

CONSOLIDATOR interactive computer technology makes it possible to quickly sort and compare stone fragment materials by their digital surface images. A special digital photograph of the fragment surface is taken for this purpose. Computer processes this image and calculates the average value of color parameters. This value is a unique digital “finger-print” of the stone material of which the fragment was made.

When comparing these parameters, we group the multitude of fragments into color clusters. It is much easier to work with color clusters. Due to application of such interactive technology clusters of ordered fragments are formed out of separate indigested fragments which are grouped by several objective features. One can assemble a larger part of a statue or even a whole statue out of such groups with higher chances for success. Such technology is suggested for implementation in the practice of archeological excavations in Egypt for the first time.

"CONSOLIDATOR-BIO" - is technology for biological research, monitoring and restoration

“CONSOLIDATOR’ technology makes it possible to accurately analyze color parameters of monument surface sections. This allows using it for analysis and monitoring of biological accretion on monument surface. “CONSOLIDATOR_BIO” innovative digital technology of analysis and monitoring biological colonization of monument surface has been developed for this purpose.

All living objects have color. Inhabitants of stone are not an exception. Any development stage of any biological object on stone has its color. Any change in the life on stone, whether the change of ambient conditions or just the growth stage results in the change of either the object itself or the stone on which such object lives. And if there is color change, it can be recorded and measured. No sophisticated instruments are needed to do this. It is sufficient to have a digital camera. However the color information recording is the simplest thing. Nature carefully guards its secrets, that is why color is coded information. We need an instrument for decoding this information. Computer and mathematics will help us here. Computer implementing special programs allows us to quickly analyze color properties of the stone surface image with the diversity of life thereon. The same computer but implementing other programs will correlate the change of color parameters with the change in the structure of biological communities, and fill the color change with a certain biological content. The first experiment in his area was the development of CONSOLIDATOR_BIO digital technology.

Using the object model made with the help of a 3D scanner we apply data on bioaccretion on its surface by CONSOLIDATOR_BIO technology. As a result we obtain 3D monument map with biocolonization zones marked thereon. Each map is a detailed interpretation of all detected forms of monument biodestruction. A map of biological hazard (biodestructors’ aggressiveness) is made on the basis of their analysis using CONSOLIDATOR_BIO technology. Such map will serve as the basis for certain actions on monument preservation. Having maps of monument surface bioaccretion one can carry out research of biological processes in time and record the changes in the monument state.
